School Boards and Superintendents: Partners in Student Outcomes

As many folks in Arlington know, our superintendent Dr. Cavazos will retire in August. The relationship between the school board and the superintendent is vital to the success of our school district. At my first candidate forum, I was asked what qualities I would look for in our next superintendent, and there are three critical attributes I believe a superintendent should have: a focus on equity for students, a spirit of collaboration, and a desire to use a variety of data sources to make decisions.
